Kale is one of the most overlooked vegetables in the world. People have been using it as garnishes for other dishes for as long as I can remember. Its usually the last thing left in the dish waiting to be disposed of. Kale happens to be a super food. Product Review: Polishing Peel for Baby Soft Skin

As we age, the turnover rate of our skin cells slows. Dead skin cells that normally shed every 28 days hang on to the skin’s surface longer, leaving it feeling coarser due to uneven surface texture. This rough texture does not reflect light evenly, resulting in lack of skin radiance or brightness. This slowed cell turnover can exasperate the appearance of pores making them appear larger.

Many individuals turn to different skin treatments to help alleviate these skin aging concerns. One common skin treatment is microdermabrasion, which uses a tool to buff or sand away the stratum corneum (outer layers of the epidermis). This increases the smoothness of your skin, helps it look brighter and decreases the appearance of pores. This can also stimulate the skin’s natural cell renewal process, resulting in a younger appearance. Microdermabrasion is less invasive than many professional skin treatments, but some may experience mild swelling and redness that lasts from as little as a few hours to a couple of days.

Nu Skin’s Polishing Peel Skin Refinisher resurfaces and polishes skin to immediately deliver a fresh, glowing complexion. It features pumpkin enzymes to resurface, soften and polish the skin and bentonite clay to remove dull skin cells and toxins. In an internal consumer use study, Nu Skin Polishing Peel was found to provide benefits similar to those experienced by some microdermabrasion techniques.

During this study participants received a professional microdermabrasion treatment on one side of their face and used Nu Skin Polishing Peel on the other half of their face. The users and independent graders tactilely and visually evaluated their skin. Overall, the two were considered equivalent, with Nu Skin Polishing Peel rating higher for the skin being smoother and softer and microdermabrasion rating slightly higher for the skin feeling resurfaced.

Positive benefits reported from both treatments included “skin is glowing,” “looks smoother,” “pores seem smaller,” “looks resurfaced,” “tone and color are more even,” “looks healthier,” “looks less oily,” and “I look younger.”

Nu Skin Polishing Peel provides results equivalent to microdermabrasion with a convenient, quick, application just a couple times per week as part of your skin care regimen. It helps resurface and polish skin leaving a healthy, youthful looking complexion and radiates a healthy looking glow.

Benefits of Eating Berries

Screen Shot 2014-09-29 at 11.05.46 AM

If someone offers you a pill for weight loss or to prevent vision loss such as that caused by macular degeneration, you would take it right? Well no need for pills, just hop on over to your local grocery store and load up on fresh or frozen berries. Berries contain antioxidants and phytochemicals, which are naturally occurring nutrients in our bodies that help protect cells from cell damage (oxidative stress) caused by free radicals. Eating a diet rich in antioxidants can help improve your health, protect your skin and hair, and prevent certain diseases. All fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, but nutrient-rich berries are some of the absolute best sources. Some of the best sources of these health benefits are Strawberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Boysenberries, Cranberries and Blueberries.

There are several powerful antioxidants that appear in berries, including anthocyanins, quercetin, and vitamin C. Anthocyanins give berries their vibrant color, reduce inflammation, and may help prevent and manage arthritis. Anthocyanins work together with quercetin to help slow age-related memory-loss. Quercetin can also decrease the inflammatory effects of chemicals in the synovial fluid of the joints for people with inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.

Studies have shown that woman who eat two servings of strawberries or one serving of blueberries a week experienced less mental decline over time than peers who did not consume berries. Berries are also able to be included in diets of those suffering with diabetes. While they are a “sweet” fruit, they contain a high level of fiber which can be useful in diabetic diets. They can count as a serving of fruit. Its always better to eat fresh berries than those that have been processed or used in a pie or muffin.

People who eat at least two servings of berries a week have a 25 percent less chance of developing Parkinson’s disease than their peers, according to research published in the journal Neurology. The same research showed that men with the highest intake of flavonoids — which are abundant in berries — reduced their risk by 40 percent. Flavonoids are being studied to help ward off certain types of cancer. Research published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis suggests that flavonoids and other compounds found in berries may help reduce colon cancer risk. Besides eating them plain, you can also get your berry servings by adding them fresh or frozen to other high-nutrition foods such as yogurt, oatmeal, and salads.

Vitamin C is another strong antioxidant found in berries. It is largely responsible for the health of collagen, which helps maintain cartilage stores and aids in joint flexibility. Eating vitamin C–rich berries will contribute to radiant skin and healthy hair, and may reduce the risk of arthritis, high blood pressure, cataracts, and macular degeneration.

In addition to antioxidants, berries are “juicy foods,” which means they contain mostly water. Juicy foods are great for losing weight because they fill you up quickly, since their high water content bumps up the volume while driving down the calories. Berries also contain fiber and folate. Fiber aids in weight loss and helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Folate may protect against cardiovascular disease and age-related memory loss, and since folate contributes to the production of serotonin, it may also help ward off depression and improve your mood. IBS sufferers take note: Some people with IBS experience discomfort after eating berries. People with a strong inherited risk for heart disease may find that a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables, including berries, can reduce their chances of having a heart attack, according to a study published in PLoS Medicine.

Remember, if you can’t find fresh berries, frozen (unsweetened) berries are a good substitute during the off-season months — and just as nutritious!

AgLoc? NuSkin? Anyone know

Ok so here’s the deal. Had a friend in high school who entered the entertainment field and was in a television series for many years. Now he’s a Hollywood producer who got into an mlm called AgLoc which is an anti aging business that spun off of more commonly known NuSkin.

My friend, after many years of almost no contact, except for the back and forth of facebook, contacts me to get me involved in his new venture. He said he wants to share this business with me because it has awesome income potential, and because of my “vivacious” personality I’d be great at this business.

Now having come out of another anti-aging skin care mlm business and being a little burned and losing a lot of money in it, I have a slightly different attitude about it then the other 15 people he’s trying to pitch on the East coast. I tapped into all of my friends, and their friends, and so on and so on. Can I now approach those same people with this new product line? Or do I look foolish?

Ok, so now all of this being said, him being a friend, I can’t help but wonder if it may be a good opportunity? i realize he stands to benefit from my hard work…..but so do I. Everyone can use a little extra income.

I just want to ask if any of you have heard of this product and if so just share your thoughts with me. If you have been involved in this mlm what is your honest opinion? Can’t wait to hear from you. 🙂  Check this out, cool site.

Foods for skin-care and anti-aging

By: Michael Moshier

I’ve long been a proponent of anti-aging procedures from the inside out – it’s great that so many people are picking up on this idea and realizing that what they put in their body can have an effect on how they look. You can take this process as far as you want – talk to your doctor about testing certain hormone levels, about what vitamins you may be lacking, etc. – or simply tune in to what foods can work for you when it comes to anti-aging.

Certain foods help you reduce the amount of oil your skin produces, as well as help your skin no be too dry. These things can combine to help your skin look younger and more vibrant. Many of these foods may already be things you eat on a daily basis – antioxidant-rich berries and pomegranates, leafy vegetables, etc. But the truth is, the average person typically doesn’t eat enough of these types of food to make the difference you may be looking for.

Wheat grass is known to provide health benefits when it comes to cholesterol, possibly preventing cancer and helping to lower blood pressure. Barley is another food that may already be in your diet, and could just use a boost. It’s a great way to improve the digestive system as well as reduce blood sugar in the body.

If you do a bit of research, you may find other food that add to your anti-aging regimen and treat the issue of aging from the inside out.

The new eye cream…butter!

Well the idea of using butter as an eye cream in a pinch is not so new. Women in Ethiopia have been using butter as a beautifying agent for years. Ethiopian women have cherished pure organic butter for its skin smoothing capabilities.

Organic butter contain lactic acid which is an alpha hydroxy acid that draws water from the slower level of the skin into the top layer of the skin. This locks in the moisture and boosts cell production to keep skin looking healthy, refreshed and glowing.

Americas top models have used this method of eye cream when in a pinch and needing to freshen up. So next time you are out dining in a restaurant and feel an urge to freshen up, go to the restroom, and don’t forget the butter! 😉

Papaya and Pineapple = Cellulite and Wrinkle Free

Papaya and pineapple are both tropical fruits that has been known to get rid of wrinkles all together. They contain an enzyme called papain. Studies have been shown that prove that these two fruits can rid your face of wrinkles. Pineapple and papaya pickers have no fingerprints because the papain has smoothed their skin so much.

Well now a new study shows that those same enzymes in those two fruits also help get rid of cellulite. In Bali, the women scoop out the papaya flesh from inside the fruit and rub the peel on jiggly thighs to tighten and smooth them. Papaya and pineapple share the same powerful enzyme that stimulates collagen production and slough off the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal softer, smoother firmer skin. Massaging the papains into the skins surface in circular motions enhances circulation, bringing hydrating blood flow to cellulite prone areas, plumping skin and reducing dimples. With repeated use, the fruits Vitamin C strengthens skin to further reduce cellulite.

Home Made Beauty Recipes

Homemade feet remedies
For smooth skin and beautiful feet here is an easy feet wash.
Ingredients: 1 cup of lemon juice, cinnamon (can be replaced with any other scent, spice, perfume or flower petals such as roses), 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk and warm water.
Preparation: Add all the ingredients to a desired amount of warm water, put it in a tub where you can soak your feet. Leave it there for a few minutes. When you are done you can dry your feet and rinse then with clear water and a mild soap.
You’ll notice that after a few weeks of doing this wash your skin will be very smooth.
Homemade nails remedies
If you want to whiten your nails, here’s a formula you can try:
Remedy 1: Use common whitening toothpaste. Scrub your nails with Pearl Drops. This will take away any stains and shine up your nails.
Remedy 2: Soak your nails in water with lemon juice or lemon slices. The lemon should act as an astringent and will strip away stains. Once the hands are dry, you need to put a couple of coats of a clear topcoat and that should be enough for white nails.
Homemade skin remedies
For a good deep cleansing treatment you should try giving your face a home sauna. This treatment should be especially useful for congested skin.
Ingredients: A bowl with near boiling water and four drops of essential oil according to your skin type
Normal: mandarin and lavender
Oily: lemon and eucalyptus
Dry: rose and camomile
Preparation: Mix all the essential oil with the near boiling water, place a towel over your head and hold it over the bowl from a distance of about 30 cm, keep it like this for about two minutes. This treatment should open the pores and prepare your face for a facial mask (check my previous posts about homemade facial masks).
Caution: You should not use this face sauna if you have sensitive skin, are pregnant of suffer from asthma.

I hope you enjoy this little easy home made treats that are ideal for a low budget or for very busy house wives that don’t have that much time to go to a salon or spa.
