AgLoc? NuSkin? Anyone know

Ok so here’s the deal. Had a friend in high school who entered the entertainment field and was in a television series for many years. Now he’s a Hollywood producer who got into an mlm called AgLoc which is an anti aging business that spun off of more commonly known NuSkin.

My friend, after many years of almost no contact, except for the back and forth of facebook, contacts me to get me involved in his new venture. He said he wants to share this business with me because it has awesome income potential, and because of my “vivacious” personality I’d be great at this business.

Now having come out of another anti-aging skin care mlm business and being a little burned and losing a lot of money in it, I have a slightly different attitude about it then the other 15 people he’s trying to pitch on the East coast. I tapped into all of my friends, and their friends, and so on and so on. Can I now approach those same people with this new product line? Or do I look foolish?

Ok, so now all of this being said, him being a friend, I can’t help but wonder if it may be a good opportunity? i realize he stands to benefit from my hard work…..but so do I. Everyone can use a little extra income.

I just want to ask if any of you have heard of this product and if so just share your thoughts with me. If you have been involved in this mlm what is your honest opinion? Can’t wait to hear from you. 🙂  Check this out, cool site.

Damaging Effects Of Smoking on Skin

image Okay, so we know smoking is bad for you. But did you realize how bad it is for your skin. It used to be thought that have a cigarette in your hand made you look sexy or cool. You sure won’t look sexy with damaged and wrinkled skin, cigarette or not! So here’s more reasons to quit smoking….

Smoking causes wrinkles. Smokers are shown to have more wrinkles as well as them being deeper and noticeable. Cigarette smoking damages collagen and fibers in skin. This causes skin to be less firm and resilient. In the age of trying to stay young, maybe quit smoking should be another beauty tip.

This is one I notice all the time. Long term smokers tend to have dead-looking or gray facial skin. Skin also may appear leathery and thick. They also have broken veins on the nose and cheeks due to impaired circulation of smoking. Who wants to look old and leathery? No one, so why do it to yourself!

Smoking can also increase chances of developing skin cancer. Your skin is one thing you want to take care of. Why damage it by smoking? With the increase interest in beauty and health you would think smoking would be a thing of the past. But it’s not. Want to have beautiful skin, stop smoking…….

Power up on Power Foods

By Michael Mosier

Is there such a thing as a perfect food? We’ve heard of super-foods, but what about a food that is simply all-around good for you? There are some that would argue eggs are just such a food – and there are several others that certainly come close and that should be integrated into your anti-aging process to help you turn back the clock from the inside out.

Back to eggs. They are a great way of getting protein into your diet, and as long as you eat in moderation and don’t already have cholesterol problems, they won’t mess up your cholesterol levels. For ease in slipping them into just about any meal, keep some hard boiled eggs on hand for sandwiches, salads and much more.

 Tofu or tempeh

Many who aren’t used to tofu aren’t sure about incorporating it into their diet. It tends to get a bad rap in non-ethnic or non-vegetarian settings. And while you may not replace the meat in your meals with it, the good thing is that if you’re not sure about it, it’s relatively easy to disguise. It takes on the flavor of the rest of the food, but if you’re still not OK with the consistency, blend it up and put it in chilis, sauces and other liquid-based dishes.

Tofu and tempeh are both are high in protein, but they also have flavanoids,  which helps to decrease the amount of bad cholesterol you have.

Blueberries

Small but powerful, blueberries are the berries chock full of  antioxidants. They’re tasty by themselves and in a number of breakfast-based foods like cakes and breads, but to keep it simple eat them alone, or use them to top cereal.

By choosing to incorporate these foods into your diet you’ll be able to make changes that will taste great and hopefully have you looking and feeling better as you age!

4 Beauty Benefits of Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum Jelly is one of those things that are amazingly cheap and readily available. But are you aware of all the beauty benefits it can give you which you can take advantage of? Read on to know just what you can get from having one small jar of this inexpensive yet wonderful beauty product in your bag.

1. It can soften your skin. I have mentioned in a previous post that applying petroleum jelly on your feet before you sleep and then wearing socks to seal it in is an effective way to have smooth and soft feet. You can also apply it on your hands regularly before or after doing manual work like cleaning or typing.

2. It’s a great moisturizer. Petroleum jelly is safe to use as a moisturizer on all skin types because it contains no chemicals or harmful substances whatsoever.

3. It’s great for chapped lips! No need to buy expensive lip moisturizers and lip gloss as long as you have your little trusty jar of petroleum jelly on your bag.

4. It’s a straight-up, no frills makeup remover. Just dab some of the jelly on areas with makeup then gently wipe with tissue or cotton.

I’m sure there are a lot more things petroleum jelly can do. Care to share your knowledge? 🙂

Beautifying with Vinegar

Much has been said about the purported healthy components of vinegar, but did you know that for many years now many claim vinegar to have beautifying powers as well? Apple cider vinegar in particular is said to be great for both the skin and the hair because of the following:

1. It is rich in alpha-hydroxy acids that help dissolve scaly and fatty substances in the skin, making it smoother and softer.

2. It can reduce the swelling of varicose veins as it promotes blood circulation. If you want to reduce unsightly varicose veins with apple cider vinegar, there are a variety of treatments to choose from. You can put vinegar in a cotton ball and then gently apply it on the skin. You can also apply the vinegar directly with your hands, in manner of gentle massaging. At the same time you can drink a couple of tablespoons of the vinegar daily.

3. Vinegar can be used as a toner, facial, and age spot lightener. Just remember that if you plan to use it on your face, you have to dilute it in water because vinegar is still acid and can burn if applied pure. Raw, organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar is said to work best. What it does is it clarifies the skin by being an effective cleanser and remover of excess oil and dirt buildup. It also helps your skin maintain an optimal pH balance. If you just want to use it to lighten age spots or darker spots, you can opt to dab the vinegar straight to these areas and leave them on overnight.

4. Vinegar as a toner can help strengthen the skin and enable it to combat bacteria and other infectious properties because of its antiseptic components combined with enzymes, minerals and amino acids.

5. Vinegar can make for a good hair rinse because the acid in it can wash away residue that may have clung to your hair. These residues often make your hair heavier and brittle. Washing with apple cider vinegar can help remove the buildup and make your hair naturally softer and shinier. Just remember to dilute it in water to make it gentler on your scalp.

6. It can also fight dandruff. If you’ve used all kinds of commercial shampoos without any results, then using vinegar to treat your dandruff problem might just be the solution you’re looking for.

7. If you’re balding or your hair is thinning, massaging your scalp with apple cider vinegar can stimulate hair growth and thicken your thinning hair.

Of all these purported benefits, so far I’ve tried using vinegar as a toner which worked really great because my face felt tight and smooth after. Care to share your own experiences with vinegar?

Benefits of a Paraffin Wax

Paraffin wax goes hand in hand with holistic therapies and natural healing. It is surprising to know that many people don’t know much if anything about Paraffin wax and it’s healing treatments. Paraffin wax increases circulation, helps open pores, improves skin color, soothes and moisturizes your skin. If you suffer from any of these conditions you should give paraffin wax a try:

  • Eczema
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Bursitis
  • Joint stiffness
  • Dry Flaky Skin
  • Tired Sore Muscles

A good way to use paraffin wax is with a paraffin bath, where you do a spot treatment. The area which is bothering you is gradually dipped into the warm paraffin bath. The wax  and is then allowed to dry and slowly peeled off. You can then follow up with massage or exercise for the specific area. Always make sure area is clean, dry and you aren’t wearing any jewelry. Make sure to follow the instructions that come with your bath for optimum results. A paraffin bath can usually be purchased at most healthy/spa stores, but they can also be purchased online. If you have hypertension, diabetes, or varicose veins it is not recommended you use the paraffin treatments. If you have a question contact your health provider.

Stretch Marks

One supposed cause of stretch marks have been found to be hormones. Quite interesting, isn’t it. It is believed that when pregnant, working out (bulking up), or gaining weight that causes a serious change in your hormones and change in the metabolism in the skin. So, in fact, it seems that it is the hormone changes and not the stretching that may be causing the stretch marks.

The most common cause of stretch marks is believed to be the stretching of the skin past the point of bouncing back. This usually occurs with pregnancy, weight gain, puberty changes, or medical issues. There are a number of ways to treat stretch marks. Although, there is no true cure for it some of the options to help with them are:

Hydration and Diet – Keep body fully hydrated by drinking enough water. Soft hydrated skin is less likely to get stretch marks. Caffeine should be avoided. It seems that caffeine may increase your risk of developing stretch marks. Incorporate skin healthy foods into your diet. Foods rich in nuts, fish, vitamin A and C, and eggs are all good for maintaining healthy skin.

Creams – Many stretch mark creams are out on the market now. Strivectin is a popular one, but it is best to ask your doctor which one you should try. Cocoa butter is often recommended to soften skin and reduce the appearance of scars.

Skin Treatments – Laser surgery, chemical peels, or dermabrasion can be chosen to address your existing stretch marks. This seems to be the most productive choice, although a bit pricey. I have heard a lot of positive things about the laser surgery.

Surgery – a tummy tuck is commonly used to remove the excess loose skin and stretch marks on the stomach area.

Pimple Problems

What can ruin a perfectly good date or just about any day? A pimple. We all hate them and they seem to pop up for no reason at all. But even though you just want them gone ASAP, resist the temptation to squeeze them. Pimples are actually a skin infection caused by many different reasons. When you pop them, because they are a bacterial infection, they cause the bacteria to spill all over the face. This can cause even more pimples to pop up, how dreadful!

More problems that can come from squeezing those pimples are nasty dark spots, red swollen area, and can cause a scar which can lead to large pores. Some things you can do about pimples are to follow a skin care regiment which incorporates an acne ritual into it.  Check out some of these face products in getting your skin back to it’s beautiful and radiant self. Also, add more water into your day. You should be drinking atleast 8, 8oz glasses a day. If you are really unhappy with your skin, give a detox a try. You are sure to see a positive difference in your skin after doing a body detox.

Even though we all, at some point in our lives, get pimples, we don’t have to live with them at all times. If you are really have pimple problems contact your dermatologist about getting help.
